However, dental assisting programs accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) require that dental assistants who want to teach hold Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) certification as well as an earned bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution.

Unlike other career paths in dental assisting, dental assisting consulting/speaking does not have a clear set of parameters to follow.  People who pursue this option usually have extensive industry experience, heavy involvement in the dental community and are able to offer a unique perspective or type of information that very few others can.
